The sculpture is a metal tree equipped with 2 counters, the top one displays the number of days of peace since May 8, 1945 and the bottom one, connected to a hand cut in the trunk, counts the number of people having raised their hand as a sign of support for this idea. The tree symbolizes friendship between peoples and the chance to live in a Europe at peace for more than 29,000 days.
